As Rotarians in Monroe County we support our school system which includes projects for the students to work and play. The club has adopted The Monroe County Achievement Center as a focus for 2023.
There are old tennis courts at the school that have been abandoned for many years and in terrible disrepair. It has been proposed that The Forsyth Monroe County Rotary Club adopt a project turning this eye-sore part of the school campus into something positive for the community and promoting Rotary.The tennis courts will be turned into eight pickleball courts. The students will be able to play on the courts as well as people in the community will be able to play.
The Forsyth Monroe County Rotary Club fells like this is a WIN WIN project. It is good for the community and education as this school campus is being brought back to life, it is good for the students in giving them a sport they can play on campus, and they can participate in maintenance and promotion of the sport, and it is good for Rotary in that we will get long term promotion of Rotary. A Legacy so to speak that Rotary stepped up to the plate on a project like to help fund a project of this magnitude.
