Rotary joined in support of the DAR to compile and send a care package to Jonathan Adams, District Attorney of the Towaliga Judicial Circuit, currently deployed to the Middle East, serving with the National Guard.
A group of club FMC Rotarians - including a singer and guitar player - presenting a Christmas Singing Program to the Senior Residents at the West Village Retirement Community.
The FMC Rotary Club will present two local High School seniors with a $1,000.00 college scholarship, each. The scholarship is advertised within the school, and applications are reviewed by the school counselors and Board of Education Rotary members. The scholarships are presented during the annual Awards Night.
FMC Rotary made a $500 donation to the Ferst Foundation, in support of Monroe Reads. Monroe Reads provides a book per month to all children under 5 years old, at no cost to the recipient families. We are proud to have continued the annual tradition of donation to this program.
This year, as in previous years, we continued to support the Adult Education initiative by providing scholarships for those seeking their GED, but unable to afford the testing. This year, we provided nearly 100 individual scholarships.
The FMC Rotary Club will sponsor two attendees at the RYLA Summer Camp. It is our tradition to sponsor 1 to 2 participants each year. Upon their return from camp, the sponsored attendees share a presentation of their experience with Club members during a weekly club meeting.
FMC Rotary Club contributed financial support to the annual Leadership Monroe community project of the Fox Hunt. One of the 12 members of the 2018 Leadership Monroe group is an active member of the FMC Rotary Club.
