On August 14, 2021 Haiti was rocked by a massive 7.2 Magnitude Earthquake and not long after, Tropical Storm Grace brought heavy rains to the region that affected search and rescue efforts.
Many of you have asked how you can help - here are two immediate possibilities:
- As the Rotary District 7020 Earthquake response committee compiles a list of needs and navigates the logistics to provide speedy aid, the Disaster Network of Assistance Rotary Action Group is mounting an urgent fundraising appeal with HANWASH (Haiti National Clean Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Strategy). If you'd like to help now please donate via credit card; PayPal; check, or wire transfer. Use this link for more information about how to contribute to the District 7020 Haiti Earthquake Disaster Recovery Fund.
- ShelterBox has significant experience working in the region. In 2010, with help from its amazing supporters, ShelterBox provided shelter for 28,000 families (140,000 people), and ShelterBox was there in 2016 too. You may support Shelter Box's response by making donations at https://www.shelterboxusa.org/2021-haiti-earthquake
We encourage you to consider these opportunities.
