We have had a great start to the Rotary year! Thank you to everyone that has already started sending donations to The Rotary Foundation – and to those of you who have begun applying for Global Grants! Wow!
We have had some global grants approved already this year. You will be hearing more about them in coming issues, but know that Rotarians in this district are doing some great things. Thank you!
By now, everyone should have received their district grant funds (if you applied for a district grant). That means you can absolutely begin working on your projects. Be sure to update your grant on the district website as you go. I am looking forward to seeing photos and reports from your grants as the year goes on. Please share them in the district newsletter!
One big request – so far only 50% of our clubs have entered their goals into Rotary Club Central. Please take a few minutes and take care of this task. If you don’t know how, please contact your Assistant Governor or email me and we will help you.
And don’t forget the Winner’s Circle! I have had a couple of questions from clubs, so I thought I should clarify:To become a 100% Paul Harris Fellow club *again*, all you have to do is ensure everyone in your club becomes a PHF. If you are already a PHF, you are all set, focus on your newer members that might not have reached that goal yet. You can use cash or gift points to help them become Paul Harris Fellows. To say this another way (to be sure it is clear): If you are already a PHF, you do *not* have to give another $1000. But if you want to, the Foundation could sure use it to do Good in the World!
Be sure to check out the rest of this newsletter – there are other articles about the Foundation including information about Peace Fellows, Global Scholars and Polio!
